The annual National Leadership Summit of SriSIIM was held on 17th and 18th of February 2017. The 2 day Leadership summit was inaugurated by Dr. Peter Church (Chairman, AFG Venture Group, Singapore) and Rev. CMT by lighting the lamp and Suktam Chanting by the students.
The welcoming address of the leadership summit was given by Rev. CMT with inspiring words and throwing light on leadership and the importance of visionary leadership in today’s era. It was then followed by Prof. K.K.Ahuja, defining the drastic change of business and the qualities a leader must acquire.
Day 1 included two technical sessions. Technical
session 1 entitled with the theme “Leading through Competency”.
The session was headed by Mr. Subhash Jagota (CEO, Global Business Solutions) and the other panel members were: Mr. Rajneesh Bawa (Group Director-Business & Strategic HR-ALP), Mr. Sharad Garg (Former VP HR, Blue Dart), Mr. Ajay Poddar( MD, Synergy Environics Ltd.) and Mr. Rakesh Seth (CEO Reeocsyys).
Technical session 2 entitled with the theme “Leading through Culture Building”.
The session was headed by Dr. V Arvind (Founder and Executive Chairman, Aravind Group of Companies) and the other panel members were: Mr. Beni Kinha (CEO, Nector Factor), Mr. HC Sharma (CEO, Human Capital Solutions), Dr. G.P Rao (Founder and Managing Partner, Good People Relations) and Mrs. Ritu Kapal (Director ACME Solutions Pvt. Ltd).
After that a Special Session was conducted and the chief guest was Mr. TS Krishnamurthy, Former Election Commissioner of India. He threw light on the essential qualities of leaders. A leader requires empathy, capacity to listen to others and wisdom to appreciate. Key to managerial success was the main point of discussion in this session.
Day 2 included two technical sessions. Technical session 3 entitled with the theme “Leading in Political Governance”.
The session was headed by Mr. Vijay Sardana (Member, SEBI and Governing Director, SRI SIIM Foundation) and the other panel members were: Mr. Joe Phelan (Director, WBCSD India), Mr. Naveen Coomar (Founder and Managing Partner, Naveen and Naveen) and Mr. S K Jha (CGM, Concor India).
Technical session 4 entitled with the theme “Leading through Organization Building”.
The session was headed by Dr. V Arvind (Founder and Executive Chairman, Aravind Group of Companies) and the other panel members were: Mr. Abhishek Gupta (VP IT, Dish TV) and Mr. R Anand (Sr.VP, HR- HCL Tech.).
After that a Special Session with Dr. Vinayshil Gautam was conducted. He is Sr.MD & Principle Economic Advisor, Protiviti India Member Pvt. Ltd. He threw light on ethics by quoting “Ethics is in one’s heart”.
The National Leadership Summit was concluded with the Valedictory Session consisting of Rev. Swami Ji, Mr. Pankaj Dubey (MD and Country Head, Polaris India Pvt. Ltd) and Brig. Gen Md. Abdul Hamid (Defence Advisor, High Commission of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh, New Delhi).
At the end, a Valedictory Speech was given by Rev. CMT to conclude the two day National Leadership Summit. He said that leaders are not created but born. Everyone who has taken birth on this planet is a Born Leader. It was followed by the vote of thanks by Ms. Sindhu Nair and the national anthems of Bangladesh and India.
