Diwali commemorates the time when Lord Ram returned to his hometown Ayodhya after defeating Raavan, the evil king of Lanka .
Diwali has always been a very special festival for people of India and same goes for Sri SIIM , where it is celebrated every year with great enthusiasm and love. The festival was celebrated in Sri SIIM on 14th October 2017. The whole campus was decorated with Rangolis ,flowers and lights of different colors.
In the evening numerous diyas were lit by the students and the campus dazzled with lights and cheer. Special arrangements for food were made and delicious sweets were prepared for students and staff . Diwali is celebrated across the world as a “Festival of Light” where the lights signify victory of good over the evil within every human being. After that, students were given refreshments which included golgappe, jalebi, etc. The day ended with an overwhelming feeling of leaving the campus and friends for a period of 15 days holidays.
